Follow Your Instinct

It's fine to be organized, and I consider myself an organized person. I pay bills on time, remember appointments, and I am likely to prepare for a trip, presentation, or meeting significantly ahead of the deadline. I even have a list of items to bring when I travel, depending on the time of year and the type of events I will be attending on the trip. That way I am less likely to forgot something I want to have with me. I even carry a flashlight so that I can read in bed while my husband is peacefully snoring.
But I am not a very organized writer. Today I planned to write in the afternoon, but instead I did maintenance on my computer, tried unsuccessfully to file for unemployment online, and then took a nap.
I don't usually like to to write in the evening. My brain tends to go into sleep mode fairly early. Maybe it was the nap, but tonight I felt like writing. The important thing, I have found, is to follow my instincts. If I feel like writing, then that is the time to write.
